Advertisement Guidelines of the Government of Tripura.
The existing Advertisement Policy made by the State Government on 23-10-1993 had several amendments. It requires further changes to keep pace with the changing needs. Press owners also demanding further changes. Considering all aspects State Government has been pleased to constitute a Committee accordingly.
Now, therefore, the Governor is pleased to revise the existing Advertisement Policy and to issue the new Advertisement Guidelines as follows superseding the all notifications / memorandums issued in this regard : -

To keep pace with the changing needs, the State Government revised the Tripura
Advertisement Policy Rules, 1998 (copy enclosed in Flag – B) and issued the new
advertisement policy called Tripura Advertisement Guidelines, 2009 (copy
enclosed in Flag – A) which came into force on 1st January, 2009 under which
local newspapers came to be categorized in 3 Categotries as A, B & C in lieu of
4 Categories vis A – I, A, B & C under earlier Advertisement Policy Rules, 1998
The Advertisement Guidelines, 2009 was published on 20-01-2009. While implementing the guidelines a section of the Press Owners had demanded some changes in the provisions for effective implementation of the guidelines. It was also felt necessary to include Electronic Media in the guidelines. Considering all aspects the State Government has been pleased to amend the Advertisement Guidelines, 2009.
Now, therefore, the Governor is pleased to amend the Advertisement Guidelines,2009 on the following clauses :-
